*(1) Leapfrog is a method used to extend the measuring device’s working range by relocating it. The process involves capturing reference geometries (artifacts) from one position, then repositioning the device and remeasuring the same references. These shared reference points connect the new position to the original coordinate system, ensuring all measurements remain consistent within the same reference frame.
